Nov 3  Topics Discussed:  NEW DATE:   This is considered our Annual Meeting and will be held virtually on ZOOM.   Our 2023 slate of Directors were unanimously elected.  A solicitation for nominations for 2022 Federation Recognition awards was made.   The members discussed the recent Stormwater Fee proposal and talked about the upcoming Short Term Rental ordinance vote in the Metro Council.  A proposed meeting structure change for 2023 was presented and received concurrence from the membership.   This is the last meeting of the year - Enjoy the Holidays!

Oct 13   Breaking news The Federation will not hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting.   Instead,  we are encouraging our members to attend one of the several public engagement sessions on the proposed Stormwater Utility Fee.   As of Sept 30th,  the following dates and locations have been reserved.   Notional meeting timeframe:  6-9PM and the sponsoring Metro Councilmembers identified.   Environmental Services Director -  Rick Speer and Assistant CAO (for DPW) Kelvin Hill will be the scheduled presenters.    Please check in regularly for any updates.

Sep 8   Topics Discussed:   All things drainage and flooding.   We had Fred Raiford discuss status of City Parish Drainage projects funded by the America Rescue Plan,   USACE Spokesperson,  David Bradley discuss the status of the 5 tributaries projects and progress on the Comite River Diversion canal and Melissa Kennedy (HNTB) to share the projects being proposed as part of the City Parish stormwater masterplan studies.   We solicited our members for volunteers to be considered for Board of Directors nominees.

Aug 11   NO MEETING THIS MONTH   we are taking our summer break

July 14   Topics Discussed : I-10 widening project and the impact of concurrent MovEBR infrastructure projects on the traffic management strategy - how will we get around Baton Rouge.  Presenters are Fred Raiford for the City Parish Transportation, James Taylor (Franklin Associates) for the DOTD.  A copy of the presentation materials may be found at the following link:   I-10 widening project.    There was a lively conversation with lots of good Qs and As.  Please don't miss.     Note This was the first meeting at the Library in 2+ yeasrs and was simulcast on Zoom for our members who chose to not attend in person.   For those unable to attend,  her is the link to the July 2022 meeting recording.

May 12   Topics Discussed:  Shared an update on the ongoing legislation impacting HOAs,  provided a lookback at the progress being made on the May 2021 statement document to the City Parish on flooding solutions along with the new Drainage Dashboard and proposed updates to Chapter 15 of the UDC.   We introduced a topic entitled "Ask Ed" where all topics about anything HOAs is fair game to ask questions.   To view the Zoom meeting recording,  please click the following link:  May 2022 Meeting

Apr 14   Topics Discussed   Status update on all the 2022 Legislature bills impacting HOAs were discussed,   2021 Federation Financial Review report results were shared and highlighted upcoming Stormwater Masterplan Public meetings. Feb 17  NEW DATE & TIME (6:30PM) - Zoom   Topics Discussed:  Crime Prevention in EBRP.   Guests speakers were Chief Murphy Paul,  Sheriff Sid Geautreaux (and several staff: Majors Todd Morris & Anthony Ponton) and DA Hillar Moore (unable to attend).  We asked each speaker to share their thoughts on what has contributed to the dramatic uptick in violent crime in the parish.   We also discussed what each organization is doing to combat this trend,  what are the obstacles your organizations face and what can we as homeowners do to be part of the solution.    In addition we discussed Federation business,  including membership drive and pending legislation in the La House of Rep.   To view the meeting recording,   please see the following link.   Feb Meeting recording  has been deleted due to size.  Contact Federation board for offline access.
