Governmental & Community Affairs Committee The purpose of the Governmental and Community Relations Committee is to monitor the appropriate City Parish departments, commissions, boards and bodies of relevance to Federation members; namely, Planning Commission, Board of Adjustments, Department of Development, Transportation and Drainage Dept, the Metro Council and other ad hoc committees/study groups commissioned by the City Parish. Additionally, the Federation participates at the municipal level in planning and legislative proposals which could impact the quality of life, character of our neighborhoods or erode property values for our membership.
In addition, this committee will monitor pending state and federal legislation and inform the board and our members of issues that may impact Federation member organizations and actively participate in advocating our position with appropriate state legislators. This subcommittee is known as the Legislative Task Force.
The Federation is also a member of the City Parish Complete Streets Advisory Committee.
